Abacus is the most ancient tool which was developed by the Chinese for the purpose of calculations. It is one of the most effective tools used to learn place value. Children love to play with the abacus because of its amazing colour and texture. In each row, a single bead represents one, ten and hundred etc. In bindi activity, students learnt to represent the given 2 digit numbers on the abacus they had drawn on an A4 size sheet using colourful bindis, instead of beads. This activity helped to reinforce the concept of Place Value learnt system in Mathematics.
