    Quiz, Quiz, Trade

A well planned lesson can be described in two words: exciting and effective. This is because learning should essentially be associated with positive motivation, excitement and passion. One such lesson was planned for Montessori Seniors, which was based on recognizing letters and a word, differentiating blends from phonograms.

This activity involved a magic bag with letters, words, blends and phonograms written on chits. Students were eagerly waiting to know what was hidden in the magic bag. Their curiosity was quenched, as each one took a chit and read what was written on it. Students were asked to move around in the classroom, randomly to the beats of a foot tapping number. When the music stopped, they were asked to find a friend and read the word in the chit to the friend they were standing with. They then exchanged the chits and read the words aloud. This activity continued till all students exchanged and read the words with five new friends.

Quiz, quiz trade activity was not only filled with dance moves, but also included reading and comprehension skills, which the students ably demonstrated.
