The Alma mater by default, becomes every school kid’s second home. Likewise, National Public School was my second home for 10 years of my academic life. Born into a very traditional Indian family, my father, strived to inculcate self discipline into my upbringing. When he enquired about the schools in Bangalore, one of his friend’s suggested that NPS was the best school near our area. Straight out of Nursery, my twin sister and I were enrolled into NPS and years later, my other siblings treaded in our footsteps.

They say school days are meant to be the most cherished years, and its true! I still remember how strict our principal, Dr.Gopalkrishna was. He would go on rounds between every period and he used to peep into the window and all of a sudden, pin drop silence was maintained in the whole class. Little did I know that my father hadn’t enrolled me into any ordinary school, the standard of education was way higher than that of any other school in Bangalore.

Over the years, we adapted into the “NPS culture” - self discipline, etiquette, competitive academic environment and high standards of teaching. Sports was given equal prominence ! My sister and I were in the throwball and volleyball team and we were selected in the march past every year !! When my school years ended , it all seemed like the end of an era ! Schooling at NPS was the best thing that ever happened to me. When I heard that NPS was opening its branch in Mysore, without an ounce of reconsideration, I had firmly decided that my youngest daughter Tanya would do her schooling at National Public School International, Mysore.

Now, as a parent, when I see Tanya in her NPS uniform, I’m constantly being reminded of my childhood and I’m inspired by how my alma mater has maintained the same NPS culture after all these years and has continuously invested in maintaing and improving quality education. I like to express immense gratitude to all the teachers and the support staff who were of great help when Tanya had a fracture. Here’s looking forward to my daughter’s successful 10 year journey at NPSI.

It’s an amazing thing to see your child do something incredible... today was definitely such a day where we as parents were so happy to see our son n all his classmates perform so well for the very well organised ‘Abracadabra’ event.

We cannot start Our praises without first praising our Principal Shubha madam for believing, trusting and encouraging kids of this age to be able to perform on stage( we would have never imagined Adam KG1A speak the few lines he did :) and watching him definitely boosted our confidence too) , the invitation card ( which was so creatively done), the efforts put in by Neetu madam and Sherly madam is beyond amazing and will be very hard to sum up with just a few words , we really appreciate each teacher we happened to meet on our way to the A/V room who greeted us with a smile.

We couldn’t stop talking about it when we returned home and shared it with other family members of the house. We definitely wish to request for possibilities of having an admit 3 pass.

NPS Indiranagar was my Alma Mater for 14 years, right from KGI to Std. XII. In spite of being an alumni it was a well thought out, conscious decision to enroll my ward in the same institution; not just a blind chase of the brand name. Witnessing the achievements of me and my classmates is truly a moment of pride. Each one of us has succeeded on our own terms. Within the portals of our school, what my teachers taught me was beyond the education that the books provided. Discipline, Perfection, Commitment, Focus, Leadership, Values – although these words sound larger than life, this was indeed the way of life in school and they remain my strengths even today.

As tempting as this may seem, it wasn’t that easy to hold one’s ground against such high standards. Students and parents were expected to not only share the NPS vision but imbibe the culture in their very veins. But this penchant to perform is what helped me taste success in every small and big endeavor. There was an equal opportunity provided to every child – while the smart ones catapulted themselves to a whole new realm, the average ones fared well too as they still were ahead of challenges outside!

My son is a student of NPSI, Mysore – an energetic and talkative toddler in KG II. When he narrates stories of his experience at school, there is this warm air of familiarity that is very soothing. I am confident that he will emerge a winner if he is nurtured in a warm yet focused environment. I sense that the team at NPS has not only upheld their vision but enhanced their ways of tutoring to suit the changing needs of the curriculum and career opportunities that have blossomed with the new generation.

While I am completely aware of the commitment that it requires from my end as a parent, I trust that NPS will bring out the best in him. The state of art infrastructure and curriculum should provide him the avenues to outshine. The teachers should mould him into a confident individual who will have the freedom to channelize and express his ideas, without the slightest hint of moderation or stereotyping.

As an Alumni of NPS I often get asked by Parents, “What do you think of NPS, should we send our child there”. I often respond to the parents, “I can give you my view point; the ultimate choice is that of the parent and the child”. Not every parent and not every child could fit the NPS culture, just like every glove won’t fit every hand!

I completed my schooling from NPS Rajajinagar many years ago. Looking back at my classmates, I think most did pretty good, surgeons, professors, engineers, fashion designers, businessmen. Like every school NPS graduates also fall into a “BELL” curve. One would find the average from the Bell curve would tend to be higher than your typical school. Schools cannot make your child a “genius” they can provide an opportunity, if missed, might hold one back. Dr.Gopalkrishna has truly been passionate about his work. I am amazed by the dedication, the personal commitment, the hard work he puts into NPS even to this day and age, a very rare characteristic indeed. It has often been said; a founder builds an organization and moulds it in his or her image, NPS is no different. The culture at NPS drives one to seek perfection, leadership, discipline, humility and a winning attitude.

In my career I have come across many “very smart” young men and women who could have been so much more had they gotten the right opportunity?At NPS, the expectation to perform is quite high; again it’s a cultural thing. What is important to understand as a parent; is your child the type who could manage an environment of great expectations? Are you a parent who could work with your child to ameliorate the learning experience without getting stressed? If yes, NPS would be an out of the world experience for you and your child.

My daughter is currently enrolled at NPS Mysore. This is her 1st year at NPS and she is currently in grade 11. So, far she has truly enjoyed her experience. When I hear her speak of her days experiences, I go, “Yup that sounds familiar”, so the good thing is, Dr Gopalkrishna and his team have maintained and in fact enhanced the learning experience at NPS over the years.As they say, “devil is in the detail”, the first thing my daughter said coming home from her first day at school, “Dad, you won’t believe how clean the campus is”. To some parents that might sound silly, but, if one cannot manage basic hygiene in school, on what moral grounds could one teach the future citizens of this countrythe value systems we so cherish? “Lead by example” is followed at NPS and that is how it should be done.

NPS Mysore has taken the lead to bring SAT coaching on campus and prepare the children for academics in US, Europe, Asia and Australia. If you are looking forward to providing your child an opportunity for a global placement, NPS is the ONLY international school in Mysore,it’s not the name that matters, it’s the mind-set.

Not everyone can take pride in being able to build a world class institution like NPS without having a vision, dedication, commitment and love for the work they do. It’s never about an individual it’s the TEAM at NPS that makes it happen.

Making a choice to move out from an organization that I've grown up with my career was not an easy one especially as I was enjoying my responsibilities. I knew I was getting into a totally different environment, but the fact that I was wished to be in such environment made my decision a bit a easier. Three months down the line, feel extremely happy to have taken the right decision. I enjoy every class of mine with being more close to students. As the positivity in the environment here is a driving force. Few of the many aspects that attracts me apart from the infrastructure, cleanliness and overall discipline:

• The plan of work by the authority (short term and long term)

SCILORE – Dil maange More

Congratulations for the well organised and thoughtful event like SCILORE. I have a few feedbacks to give about this event.

This is THE event that I was always looking forward to be held in your school as this provides a hands-on practical exposure to the students to look, feel and experience of what they are taught as theory in the class. Please arrange more such events than any other, as you will be covering both theory and practical part of their study which would be a complete package for their academic growth.

In events like these, students basically apply in practice, what they are taught in school which often challenges their creativity, sharpens their intelligence, gaining subject expertise, opens up more interaction with teachers, increases the self confidence and sets the right attitude in students. It was a WOW for me to see the enthusiasm of students and pride in them for having accomplished their task and up on their heels to explain, what they have done I especially liked the 11th and 12th std projects (Robots, Rockets and Virtual Reality..) in ground floor. Also liked the Poorvi’s hydroponics display and Bhoomika’s explanation of her project. May ne many more if I had seen all classes.

I personally interacted with few questions to students to ignite their thought process and creativity. They exhibited the best of attitude for the suggestions given to improve their project. Overall it was a great event and more than what I had expected. I find students of the school have the right attitude and spirit in them but only needs to be channelled in the right direction. These students are the future nation builders. Events like these will definitely help in the child’s overall growth and with this approach, you teachers are laying a strong foundation for our nation building and taking NPSI to much greater heights.

Thank you for your kind mail. It would indeed be a pleasure to share some of the marvellous experiences that Saloni had during Europe Odyssey trip. In fact she continues to share some memory even till today!

Every child and certainly adult alike, would love to experience the magic of Disneyland. For Saloni, a huge Walt Disney fan, the visit was even more enchanting, considering it was with her school and set sheer beauty and magnificence of the Parade at the end of the day. The visit to the Eiffel Tower, especially with the visual of flickering lights on has stayed with her and she keeps seeing the video time and again to relive the moment.

The trip to Euro space was according to her. “loads of fun” and she particularly enjoyed the moonwalk and the launching of rockets. Playing with snow is always delightful and the visit to Mount Titlis in the company of friends only added to her joy. The ride on the ice flyer was loved by Saloni for its thrill!!

The list of memories and experiences are endless..All we can say is Saloni is extremely lucky to have had a chance to be a part of such a wonderful trip. Right from her journey from Mysore to her return, every moment has been priceless!

Apart from the happiness, beautiful memories, strong bonds of friendship she carries away from this trip, we are sure it will go a long way in her all round personality development.

We have been itching to write our experience of NPSI Mysore for a while. We think this is the right time as our kids have spent almost a year at this school.

After years of indecision, we decided to move back from England and our first priority was to find the right school for our two kids. This led to lengthy longlisting and shortlisting of schools and we finally took the plunge and approached NPSI, Mysore. We found the website of NPSI very informative, which cleared most of our queries. The preliminary meetings were very welcoming and informative. NPS per se has an excellent and impeccable pedigree and no doubt we were in high spirits when our kids got through the entrance tests and were offered places in the school.

Shivani and Devaiah started school in 2014 and we were understandably very anxious about them settling in and making friends. It can be a hard transition for the kids who have never been to school in India, to get accustomed to the new educational system. We were pleasantly surprised to see how quickly they embraced the transition. The teachers and staff have certainly done a sterling job at putting our children at ease. The entire school staffs have been wonderful and certainly welcoming. We found the teaching methods used are on par with the best schools in the world and this certainly helped the smooth transition for our kids. The emphasis is rightly on academic excellence but what is also obvious is relentless encouragement for holistic development.

"My daughter and son come home happy from school and actually want to tell us all about their days and what they are learning" We are kept up to date via emails, Almanacs, announcements on school website and sometimes by phone calls, which gives a nice personal touch. The School has a very safe and secure feel to it. We are pleased with the security arrangements in place to protect our kids. The school was very quick to explain the systems in place to safeguard the children in the wake of various difficulties faced by them in schools nationally. This is a well organised, well run, friendly school and we are delighted our children study here. We made the right move and chose a very good school. We are confident that this school will give our children a solid foundation for the rest of their lives.

Wanted to place on record the wonderful way in which all of you have been coordinating and communcating with the parents on the various events, changes and inclusions based on suggestions. I like the way you very positvely deal with these changes!

In addition, both my husband and I especially liked the following, from what our son told us:

• Math mini question papers that Subbaiah's teacher gives to prepare the kids

• The reward / reinforcements (tiny things that make a huge difference) that some of the teachers give (good effort in Math, participation in the Independence day, good luck, etc)

• Concept behind Class 6 event - Friendship

• Teacher participation in the events. Suboo sang some parts of the song that his principal sang and he was thrilled that she sang for them!

We are enjoying the school and all that we hear about the school from our son. Keep it going!

It gives me great pleasure to write to you about how my daughter studying at grade-6 is enjoying learning maths especially. I have seen my daughter grow in confidence during this current term, her questioning / researching ability aroused. It was indeed a pleasure to see her exploring and discovering her true interests. I can't stop to tell about her Maths teacher (Mr Shilpa Mam), a few creative ways of her teaching, her dedication to teach going beyond her comfort zone and her friendly attitude towrds children. I also understand similar exhibits in teachings by her Kannada, Science and lately by English teacher (handled by Mrs Gauri Mam since past one week). Lately, I find that there has been substantial change in the teaching of English language with more empahsis on correct pronunciation, vocabulary, correcting students mistakes in a very positive way without hurting the child's mind. This not only ensures the improvement in the child's standard of English but will greatly help in their comunication skills which is very key in thish highly literate world. All these efforts by your teaching faculty is indeed a true knowledge harnessing exercise for any child. Needless to emphasize that my child has gained immensely in many ways in this past few months. I attribute all these to the great efforts of your teachers. My sincere thanks to you, managment team, your fantastic teaching faculty and team at your school for dedication, commitment, nurturing, faciltating and encouraging that growth in the child, the most positive manner and shaping them into good, resposnible citizens. Beforing joining NPS Mysore, my child studied half of her life in overseas and rest in other international schools. But your dedicated team of teachers, truly go above and beyond. We attended the orientation program yesterday for class VII and thank you for conducting such a wonderful session. There were many take away's for us, being a good role model for the child to look up to, allowing the child to make mistakes and learn from them, to view thing's from child's perspective and many more. We were particularly impressed with the stress you laid on the respect to be given to all no matter what their role in the organisation. This is something which we need to inculcate not only in the child but in the parents and am pleased to see the emphasis on this very important aspect. Its important you take the parent who misbehaved with your staff to the cleaners.

I was reading the interview of your director Ms Bindu Hari with Mr Subroto Bagchi, where she touches upon some very important aspects on parenting and the six rules the modern day parent needs to be aware of. May be you could have a workshop for parents to elaborate on and drive home the importance of the aspects she has so very well articulated. WOW! WOW!! WOW!!!

NPS FOR OUR DAUGHTER and US is going to be “WOW……” for sure.

First impression is the best impression.

Learning is natural, that a love of learning is normal and that real learning is passionate. “Parents are the teachers too” the welcome badge and the writing pad (best out of waste), prepared by the dynamic team of NPS speaks a lot.

The very cool and the valuable answer “I don’t know, because I know only NPS” for the question “In what way you are different compared to the others?” built a lot more confidence in me. The introduction of teachers to the parents and the boosting word to them, like ‘Observe, the teachers are covering me, that clearly shows they are leading and not me’ was appreciable and the parents who are teachers like me, felt proud and responsible. The PPT’s presented, were informative and self readable, which could convey a lot of messages to us.

The tips shared, for the improvement of disciplinary activities in a child and especially the eating habits (preparing the list) were useful. I would like to congratulate the Principal for the patience, which you are still waiting for the explosions to happen, as one of the teachers of your son told, when he was in kindergarten. Good luck.

Let me convey my sincere appreciation and the words of gratitude to you and your team, for the eye openers and fruitful words that clarified most of the apprehensions that the parents had about the noblest responsibility they handle. THANKS A LOT.

Last Friday evening, when we arrived to witness our child on stage as part of Ninaad 2013, I was handed a small piece of blue paper offering me the chance to voice my opinion about the event. After the event, I decided that I should take some time to articulate my thoughts and write to you on email instead of scribbling some words on the note. I hope you don't mind the delay this decision has caused.

Let me start by expressing my appreciation towards all the efforts that must have gone into making the event happen: the planning and execution of the programs, the music and songs, and the overall event management; these were clearly not trivial tasks. The event was a fantastic experience..

I was particularly taken by the courtesy and care we received from the organizers, teachers & each of the volunteers that we encountered while we were at NPS.

The amount of planning that must have gone into the execution of this event was very apparent to me: minute details such as the number of seats available vis-à-vis the number of people attending; cordoning off areas to ensure guests don't get lost; senior children singing along to help their juniors keep to the pace of the song, while still letting their juniors take center-stage; maps clearly showing expected pick-up points; they were all taken care of and clearly showed the thinking that had gone into the making of this show.

The colors, costumes, stage-props, sound systems and the auditorium itself made for a really enthralling evening. And to top it all: Savi, my daughter, had a ball performing on stage! It is really great to see her enjoying her time at school while also developing her skills and confidence to face such a large audience. What more can a parent ask?

Please express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of the NPSI staff and students who made this such a successful event.

Though I never had the opportunity to be an NPS alumnus, I must say that I am proud to be an NPS parent!

KUDOS TO TEAM NPS!!

The team NPS is thoroughly professional, who exhibited their enthusiasm and dedication throughout the year in nurturing the young minds by catering the innate talent. I would like to convey my wholehearted thanks and gratitude to all scholastic and non scholastic teachers involved in shaping Vridhi Rai. I would like to take an opportunity to thank all the non teaching staffs(Akka's, Baiya's, Driver Mr. Padmanabh and her caretaker in the bus route M4) also.

Making a choice to shift Vridhi from EXCEL was not easy one as she enjoyed the system and group of friends at school. But the fact that we wished her to be in an environment where academics are given prime importance with lot of creativity, help in articulating her thoughts and for the holistic development.

Today I am proud and feel extremely happy to have taken the right decision and privileged to be the part of NPS family.
