An Unforgettable Journey to Sholay Land

On 8 January 2020, we the students of class IX, set out embarking on an adventure together to 'The Silk City of Karnataka' - Ramanagar. Needless to say, the bus ride was a lively one!

The location of Valley Vibes Resort provided us with an aerial perspective of the famed Sholay rocks of Ramanagar. We began our day with a scrumptious breakfast and proceeded to climb the Karadi Betta. While trekking on the rocky landscape, ever so often, one of us would slip, slide, fall or stumble. But nothing stopped us from moving on! We hiked for hours - sometimes in tranquil silence, sometimes in tumultuous noise, sometimes wanting to quench our thirst and sometimes grabbing a friend’s water bottle! The victorious hoots of some of us, and accomplished smiles of all, marked the end of our arduous trek.

As the light of the day drained away, paving way for the velvety dark of night, we drenched ourselves in the enigmatic rain dance, swaying to perky beats with dazzling grace. Late in the night, as we captured the warmth of the roaring blaze of the bonfire, until the wee hours in the morning, we basked in moments of cheerful laughter and joy.

The next day, we woke up to a frosty morning with chattering teeth and shivering palms. We started off on an expedition to SRS hill. The carved steps, winding uphill, led to an ancient cave temple at the top. It was a tiring climb, but the astounding scenery that awaited us atop, was worth the effort. This experience transported us to a new realm of spirituality.

Throughout the trip, from the time spent at the pool to the 'zip line', we had a blast. We began our journey back to Mysore on the noon of 9 January 2020. We returned home with a treasure trove of memories and experiences that will be cherished for a lifetime.
