It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves
The splendor of nature, the stillness in the valleys, the astounding views of the night sky, the ardent display of colours during sunset, the delight of staying in the tents have always fascinated people across the world, especially the mountain lovers.
A guest lecture programme was arranged for the students of classes VI to VIII to take them on a virtual trek to the Himalayas, through the stories narrated by Mr Pramod Subbarao, a Software Engineer and a passionate trekker.
Mr. Pramod addressed the students on the topic 'Mountaineering and Trekking', on Wednesday, 28 July 2021 at 10 am. He spoke about Gangotri glacier, tents in the Himalayas, the hardworking people living in that area, acclimatising the body to the climatic condition of the great Himalayas, penguin walk, ice skating, beauty of Leh city, handicrafts manufactured and using of mules for transportation, The programme provided an insight into trekking and life style in Leh city. The photos shared by Mr Subbarao created a lasting impression on the minds of the young learners.
