  • Cultivating the Art of Story Narration

    A guest lecture on the art of storytelling was held for classes 9 &10, in the month of October. The speaker was Ms Sheela Arakalgudu, who is an academician and a passionate storyteller. Students were provided an insight into the creative methods of story narration, that are employed to keep the audience engaged.

    Ms Sheela gave several interesting inputs, that included techniques of building curiosity in the listeners, using hand gestures to keep the audience engaged, having a clear storyline, using intonation etc. She emphasised that while telling a story, the narrator must focus on the key elements of Setting, Theme, Organised approach, Resolution and create the Yearning to know more! She also reinforced the importance of highlighting the character and the plot in a storyline.

    The session was very interesting and helped the students to understand the key elements in the art of storytelling. It is a well-known fact that listening to stories is cherished by all age groups. So this informative session, towards creating good narrators proved to be engaging and enjoyable.
