Nature’s Bounty - A Visit to Oxygen Acres
The students of class 5 had an opportunity to visit Oxygen Acres, as part of their outdoor learning programme. Oxygen Acres – A haven with serenity and positivity that contributes to one’s physical wellbeing. The place has laid its foundation keeping in mind the concept of ‘go green’ where there are umpteen number of plants and trees. The students were enlightened about the varieties of fodder that is grown and fed to the cattle. The cows are hygienically bred and produce large quantities of pure milk that enables Oxygen Acres to supply the finest quality of milk and milk products. Students also had a tour of the cowshed and the biogas plant, where the process of producing fuel using cow dung was explained in detail. Learners witnessed the processing unit where cheese, cottage cheese and other milk products are produced. The highlight of the place is the presence of a 200-year-old Banyan tree where students posed for their group photos; selfies and enjoyed their scrumptious snacks. Students were offered lip smacking Lassies, made of fresh cow milk. The visit was fun, riveting and educative for the students of Class 5.
