NPS International, Mysore, organized a field trip to the Mysore silk weaving factory for the students of class 7 on 10 November 2023, which proved to be a unique learning experience, that encouraged curiosity and provided real world experience to students. The objective of the trip was to observe the products being manufactured and the processes at work.

The learners observed the process of making silk sarees and clothes. They interacted with the workers and collected a lot of information. They witnessed the entire process of weaving, right from the stage of cocoon to warping. They were amazed to see the real time process of theory put into practice. They were introduced to dyeing unit and were exposed to the colour dyeing and drying processes. Children thanked the manager for the insightful information provided on the silk manufacturing process.

The visit to the silk factory gave an opportunity for the students to see the real time process of theory put into practice, which in turn gave them much more clarity of the concept. They enjoyed thoroughly, as they could spend good times with their friends and they also made memories which they will cherish forever. The trip was successful and it was an educative and memorable experience for the students.
