On 28 June 2024, Class 4 students embarked on an exciting educational field trip to the Regional Museum of Natural History in Mysore. The visit aimed to provide students with a hands-on learning experience, complementing their classroom studies in natural history and environmental science. The students were greeted and briefed about the history and importance of the museum by the friendly staff and guide of the museum, upon reaching the place. The students witnessed various exhibits that showcased the rich biodiversity of Southern India. Students were fascinated by the variety of plants, animals and insects displayed. The Geology and Paleontology section featured impressive collections of minerals, rocks, and fossils. The highlight for many students was the fossilized remains of ancient creatures, including a dinosaur skeleton. The museum's ecology emphasized the importance of conservation. Through engaging displays and short films, students also learnt about the endangered species and the steps being taken to protect them. The students later on were engaged in discussions, watching educational videos. The field trip concluded with a feedback session where students shared their favourite moments of the visit and what they had learned. The museum staff praised the students for their enthusiasm and curiosity. The trip to the Regional Museum of Natural History in Mysore was a memorable and enriching experience for the Class 4 students.
