A Day of Discovery at the Zoo
On Wednesday, 29th October 2025, Class 2 students embarked on an enriching field trip to the Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens. The visit offered them valuable insights into animal behaviour, habitats, and ongoing conservation efforts.
Upon arrival, the zoo staff facilitated a guided buggy tour, leading the students through various sections, including the mammal zone, reptile house, aviary, and aquatic area. Throughout the tour, the students learned fascinating facts about diverse species and observed how animals are cared for in secure and naturalistic environments.
Students were especially thrilled to see majestic animals such as lions, tigers, elephants, and giraffes up close. In the reptile house, they marvelled at the variety of snakes and lizards, discovering their unique adaptations and survival strategies. The aviary, filled with colourful and melodious birds such as pelicans and cockatoos, was a favourite among many, sparking curiosity about migratory patterns and bird conservation.
The trip concluded with a cheerful group picnic on the zoo lawns, where laughter and games filled the air.
Overall, the field trip was both enjoyable and educational, allowing students to connect their classroom learning with real-world experiences while fostering a deeper appreciation for nature and wildlife. The experience not only broadened their understanding of biodiversity but also inspired many to become more responsible and compassionate towards animals and the environment.
