VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP TO HERSHEY’S CHOCOLATE FACTORY Field Trip Of Class XI
Pure Hershey's… Pure happiness, so the tagline of Hershey’s says! True to the tagline, the students of class 11 experienced pure happiness on the 13th of September 2021, when NPSI Mysore hosted a virtual field trip for them, to the Hershey’s Chocolate factory. The field trip was a gripping experience and it sure was a delight to witness, amidst the normal academic sessions.
Hershey Company, also known as Hershey Chocolate Co., and Hershey Foods Corporation is a chiefly chocolate and sugar-based confectionery enterprise. Hershey’s Milk Chocolate, in its brown-and-silver wrapper, is perhaps the best-known American candy bar of the 20th century. The learners of Class 11 were provided an in-depth insight into the chocolate manufacturing process, which they found to be fascinating.
The online outing included a chocolaty smooth roller coaster ride at the Hershey’s Amusement Park- where at the end of the ride, one gets sprayed with white chocolate from a glorious fountain. The students thoroughly enjoyed watching the world’s tallest roller coaster and though they missed the sprinkles from the world’s sweetest fountain, the thrill was still prevalent, just like the growl from tummies from witnessing a sugary, candy-coated journey. The trip surely made everyone crave Hershey's!
Students learnt a lot of things through the virtual field trip. It was certainly informative and all of them had a fun time. To make it more interesting, a quiz on chocolates was also included at the end of the field trip. “Anything in excess is poison” was the value inculcated in the field trip, that aptly conveyed the benefits, as well as, the harmful effects of excess chocolate consumption. To put it across in students’ words “The chocolate was not the only sweet thing about the virtual tour. Our teachers, who hosted the trip, guided us throughout the video, from the treacly introduction to the nectary ending. They took us through the candy-like adventure, it was like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 2.0 where the ticket was golden and so were their efforts.”
