Booklovers' Hub
Reading is crucial to strengthen language and communication abilities, which are very important for success The first virtual session of the Booklovers’ Hub was held on Saturday, 30 October 2021. Over 200 students from classes 6, 7 and 8 joined for the programme. This novel initiative is the brainchild of our Principal, Ms Akhila Dinesh and it is aimed at inculcating a reading habit in young learners.
The team of ten young panellists showcased a few important works of Dr Sudha Murthy, through role plays and eye catching presentations. An overview of the famous books- Grandma’s Bag of Stories, The Magic of the Lost Temple, Three Thousand Stitches, The Magic Drum, The Lockdown Time and The Day I Stopped Drinking Milk – was provided by the students in the most creative ways that kept the audience enthralled throughout. The most interesting part of the show was that, the team of panellists did not disclose the conclusion of the stories, triggering the curiosity element amongst listeners. The event concluded with an acknowledgement to the Principal, the student speakers, their mentor teachers and the technical team.
The audience thoroughly enjoyed the session which was evident from their reactions, comments and queries in the chat box. They expressed that they are eagerly looking forward to more presentations like these, in the near future.
Team NPSI Mysore believes that the influence of a leader has far reaching impact and it is here, that we had our young readers to pitch in! The first group of panellists successfully created the right effect, like the ripples in a pond, prompting the audience to explore the world of books and cultivate the habit of reading.
