Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, Dasara or Dashain is a major Hindu festival celebrated at the end of Navaratri every year. It is observed for different reasons and celebrated differently in various parts of the Indian subcontinent. In the southern, eastern, north-eastern, and some northern states of India, Vijayadashami marks the end of Durga Puja, remembering Goddess Durga's victory over the buffalo demon Mahishasura to restore and protect dharma. In the northern, central and western states, the festival is synonymously called Dussehra (also spelled Dasara, Dashahara). In these regions, it marks the end of Ramleela and remembers God Rama's victory over Ravana. Alternatively, it marks a reverence for one of the aspects of Goddess Devi, such as Durga or Saraswati.

NPSI, Mysore celebrated Dussehra on October 8, 2021, with fervor and zeal this year, through a virtual celebration. The show was hosted by the students of Class 7.

The students took the audience on an enthralling journey through the various states of India, where Dussehra is celebrated in grandeur. Significance of why Dussehra is celebrated across India was showcased by the students brilliantly. The audience were also taken on a virtual tour to the spectacular Doll Exhibition at school during the programme.

Children kept the audience enthralled with their mellifluous songs and synchronized dance performances.
