The new academic year began on a high note with the Connect Programme conducted on 7 May 2022, in the school auditorium. The event was held in 2 sessions- one for the new parents of the early years, and another for parents of new joinees in the primary and middle years. True to its name, the Connect programme achieved the important objective of establishing a strong network with parents, dispelling their doubts and apprehensions, if any, regarding their choice of NPS International Mysore for their wards. In her address to the gathering, the Principal, Ms Akhila Dinesh enlightened the audience about the rich history and legacy of the NPS Group of schools.. She thanked the founding members for constantly being a source of strength and support. Emphasising on the vision of NPS, she spoke about the educational excellence at NPS, which stemmed from a student centric approach, state of the art infrastructure, need, skill and value based curriculum, superior pedagogical tools and an undeterred focus on holistic development of students. Stating that academic excellence cannot be quantified as ‘success’, she threw light on the blend of scholastic and co-scholastic dimensions at NPSI Mysore, that prepares its students to become global citizens of the future. She stated that the main purpose of education at NPSI Mysore is to create a conducive environment for progressive learning aimed at strengthening social skills, resulting in a happy school with happy children. The team of coordinators eloquently elaborated upon the details of bridging sessions, curriculum, assessments, events, competitions, Parent Teacher meetings, field trips and guest lectures that have been planned for the forthcoming academic year. They enlightened the audience about the corner stones of discipline, work ethics, values, humility, appreciation, inclusiveness and gratitude that NPSI Mysore stands for. School expectations from students and parents were aptly spelt out. The coordinators highlighted the fact that the curriculum is research based and tailor made to suit the requirements of students as it aptly imbibes hands on experiences for enhanced learning outcomes. Queries posed by the interactive audience during the question and answer session pertained to topics regarding upskilling of faculty members, Saturday and school reopening schedules, break times, channels of communication, books etc. The principal addressed each of these queries with patience, providing greater clarity on the functioning of the school. She emphasised on the year round in-house and CBSE training programmes conducted for teachers. She also highlighted on the Parent App and Acadamis portal that are platforms for continuous communication with the school. Overall, it was a productive session that resulted in parents and students feeling contented with the session, because it led them to conclude that NPSI Mysore is definitely the right choice for their ward’s educational needs. The programme concluded with refreshments for parents and students. NPSI Mysore believes in progressive partnership and continues to establish a strong connect with the members of the parent fraternity.
