Gransday Grandeur
“What children need most, are the essentials that grandparents provide in abundance. They give unconditional love, kindness, patience, humor, comfort and valuable lessons in life. A child needs a grandparent to grow a little more securely in an unfamiliar world.” Grandparents are the special people who keep the family together, instill values in their grandchildren through their creative stories, the founders of a loving legacy and the keepers of traditions. Grandparents are the family’s strong foundation. To make the grandparents of our Pre-primary students feel special, a well-planned programme was organized for them on 23 February 2023. Grandparents got a sneak peek into the making of ‘Gransday Grandeur’ and they enjoyed watching their grandchildren in their practice sessions. The show began with our fantabulous trio who were the masters of ceremony and carried forward their duty with lot of enthusiasm and confidence. The principal Ms Akhila Dinesh addressed the gathering and expressed how important grandparents are in our lives and also reminisced her childhood days with her grandparents. KG students gave a scintillating dance performance on the songs specially dedicated to the grandparents. Montessori seniors spoke confidently about their experience with their grandparents and also shared loving thoughts to make them feel special. Montessori Juniors and Beginner students had an opportunity to walk the ramp with their grandparent. We were mesmerized to see grandparent and grandchild twinning with one another as they walked the ramp in style. After the programme, customized and handmade takeaways, lovingly made by their grandchildren were given to the grandparents along with refreshments. A free medical camp was organized for the grandparents in collaboration with the team from Gopala Gowda Shanthaveri Memorial Hospital and many made the most of this opportunity. The icing on the cake for the show, was the heartfelt expressions grandparents shared with the staff and students of NPSI Mysore, that they thoroughly enjoyed the show and were moved to tears by witnessing a show of this magnitude, specially dedicated to grandparents.
