Independenceday Day
At Midnight on August 14, 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, stepped onto the podium facing our country’s Constituent Assembly in Parliament and delivered the "Tryst with Destiny,'' thereby establishing our country's first Independence Day. Indian Independence Day is a day of exuberant celebration commemorating the moment when all Indians broke free from the shackles of the British Empire’s rule. Indians as a whole celebrate this historic occasion in great grandeur, creating a sight to behold and demonstrating our strong patriotism. We, at NPSI Mysore, celebrated the national festival with fervour and patriotism. Each one had tri colour bands or pins to add to this nationalistic display. The fifth-graders, whose oratory, singing, and dancing skills are par excellence, left us in awe with their scintillating performance. The tri-colour was unfurled with great vigor by our esteemed Principal, Ms. Akhila Dinesh, flanked by teachers, School Perfect and Sports Captains this was accompanied by the patriotic rendition of our national anthem. The students of classes 9-12, put up a spectacular display of march past, to the flawless beats of band. The marching troops showcased unwavering patriotism and were ably led by the school main Council and the House captains. The fifth graders put forth a stunning performance of Jhanda Ooncha Rahe Hamara, lifting up our spirits. For the first time at the NPSI Mysore campus, students of grade four put up an impressive ‘Dumbell’ display and demonstrated their agility. The importance of the day was well spelt out through an inspiring speech in hindi. The presentation of a small-scale fashion show that emulated our patriotic heroes in all their regal glory, highlighted the struggle and courage of our freedom fighters. The class choir returned with a moving song in our state language of Kannada, Bharathambeya Hemmeya. On this momentous occasion, the principal Ms. Akhila Dinesh presented a knowledge-enriching and inspiring address. Speaking on this momentous occasion the principal highlighted on the ‘ Har Ghar Tiranga’ mission and told about the significance of our tricolor. She also emphasized on the value of freedom and the importance of unity in diversity. She called upon all members to preserve and uphold the culture, ethos and values of our great nation. Finally, the energetic dance to various patriotic songs demonstrating Indians' love and allegiance to the country caught all our attention and left us spellbound. The combat scene that was incorporated into the dance was an exhilarating pinnacle of the show. The rendition of our national song Vande Mataram brought our memorable, experiential voyage to a close.
