Republic Day Celebration
NPS International School celebrated India’s 74th Republic Day with great éclat. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. The school band escorted the Principal, Ms Akhila Dinesh to the flag post where the tricolour was waiting to be unfurled. As the flag was hoisted, accompanied with the rendition of the national anthem, The Principal, PE teachers and student leaders saluted the tricolor pledging to uphold its honour and integrity at all times. This was followed by a March Past by all four houses, which showcased the discipline and focus of the students as they marched together as a team. The synchronized movements, the crisp commands, the zeal and enthusiasm of the students showed how close they have come to be working in perfect symphony. The students of class 9 rendered melodious songs spreading the fragrance of patriotism. Students of classes 9 and 10 put up a wonderful display, creating human pyramids as they performed yogasanas. Their perfection and precision in postures left everyone mesmerized. One of the tiny tots from KG 2 spoke about the importance of Republic Day. The audience was also entertained by a hoola hoop display by the students of class 3. The Principal in her address said that the Preamble of our Constitution is sacred to all of us. She added that to build a stronger nation we need to work on building innovative spirit. She emphasized on the point that patriotism and love for our country should not be limited to the celebration of national festivals. The true essence of patriotism is our contribution towards the enrichment of our resources and acceleration of the growth and development of our country. She concluded by reiterating the spirit of our nation-Unity in diversity. She invoked the thought in the young minds that, collectively we can overcome any hurdle and ensure that our country is known as one of the super powers in the coming years. The programme ended with an appeal to look within ourselves and live up to the expectations of our constitution.
