"Success has nothing to do with what you gain or accomplish for yourself. It's what you do for others."

The inaugural ceremony of the Rotary Interact Club was held on Friday, 21 October 2022 at NPSI Mysore. The Interact club, brings together young students, and aims to develop their leadership skills alongside discovering the power of ‘Service Above Self’. Through the interact club, students are motivated to take action, build international understanding, and make new friends around the world.

As the first step towards the installation of Interact club, the programme commenced with an invocation song and the traditional lamp lighting ceremony by our Principal and the dignitaries, Chief Guest- Mr. K Subhramanya Rao, and our Guest of Honour – Dr. Arjun Sachidanand, who have been active Rotarians. This was followed by a classical dance performance by the students of grade 9 and 10, to invoke the divine blessings of the almighty.

NPSI Mysore believes in inculcating life skills to empower students to face the outside world. This initiative of installing the Interact club was pioneered by our Principal Ms Akhila Dinesh. The Principal welcomed the chief guests and added that this enterprise is a golden opportunity for the students to contribute to the community and learn in the process.

The Chief guest - Mr. K Subhramanya Rao addressed the students and briefed them about the work and services of the Rotarians. He threw light on the various outreach programmes undertaken during the pandemic. He added that NPSI Mysore is the fifth school in Mysore, to collaborate with Rotary towards community building.

Our Guest of Honour – Dr. Arjun Sachidanand was the next to address the gathering. An orthopedic surgeon, entrepreneur and the owner of two organic farms, Dr Arjun shared his experience of becoming a Rotarian. He quoted, ‘We have two hands, one for us and the other to help others’ and inspired the students to take an active part in lending a helping hand to the community in need.

This was followed by inducting the office bearers to their posts in the club. Kavya Pradeep of class 11 was sworn in as the President, Charishma of class 9 as the Vice President, Vidhi of class 11 was chosen as the Secretary, Aakash of Class 9, as the treasurer, Khushi as the Seargent-At-Arms and Saanvvi as the Editor in chief. The honours was done by Rtn Mr. K Subhramanya Rao. All office bearers pledged to abide by the norms of the Interact Club and execute their duties to the best of their abilities. The solemn oath taking ceremony and presentation of badges to the office bearers of the interact club, was a moment of pride for the school.

The newly elected President, Kavya in her speech expressed her happiness on being chosen as the President and added that she was looking forward to work with the team, for a noble cause and give back to the society.

The program concluded with acknowledgements followed by the rendition of national anthem.
