Teachers Day
“Good teachers are the reason why ordinary students dream to do extraordinary things.”
Teachers’ Day was celebrated at NPSI Mysore, with great zeal, for a week. It all started on 5 September, when the students put up a wonderful show for their teachers. The emotional speeches by the tiny tots of classes 1 and 2, songs by the little champions of classes 4 and 5, won many hearts. The students of class 6 made beautiful cards for all the teachers and it was truly delightful to see the smile on the facilitators’ faces as they read through the words written on them. The dance performances by students of Class 7, 11 & 12, were outstanding. Students of classes 9 &10 showcased the rich cultural heritage of Incredible India through a display of music and dance, from different states. The stand-up-comedy show, had the audience in splits. This programme was entirely planned, organized and executed by the student body and it achieved its objective in making all teachers feel special and cherished.
The Principal and the admin team had organized a variety of competitions for the facilitators, in the domains of cooking, salad dressing, hair-styling, spontaneous writing, singing and dancing. All teachers participated wholeheartedly in all competitions and gave it their best shot. The judges were a few of our parent partners, who are experts in these fields. Members of the teaching fraternity also cast their votes to choose the most popular, versatile, cooperative and presentable teachers from their teams.
The finale event was held on September 10. After enjoying a lavish spread of lunch, teachers proceeded towards the auditorium for the celebration to begin. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal, Ms Akhila Dinesh, lauded the efforts of teachers and said that they are members of the most noble profession. She complimented all teachers for their whole hearted participation in the competitions adding that educators are empowered multi-taskers, who are mentors to the future generations.
It all commenced with the sector-wise entertainment programmes put up by the educators. The support staff members put up an energetic dance performance for the teachers. This was followed by prize distribution for the winners of various competitions. Thereafter, all teachers walked the ramp for a fashion show, that was a display of confidence and personality. Through various screening rounds, the final seven were shortlisted. Eventually, after the question-answer round, MrVishwas was crowned as “Mr. NPSI Mysore” and Ms Smitha M bagged the title of “Ms NPSI Mysore”.
Overall, the programme was enjoyed by all and conveyed the message that “Teachers are evergreen celebrities -talented professionals, who are instrumental in making this world a better place.”
