Lip smacking, finger licking and savoury food, sweet and saccharine deserts- this was Food Fiesta 2023 at NPSI Mysore in a nutshell. 2nd of September, 2023, was a day when students of classes 9 and 10 were brimming with excitement to sell the dishes which they had wholeheartedly crafted. Each class had a theme given to them according to which they had to select and prepare the dishes. The students worked together to present the best of their culinary abilities.

The initial round took place on the 16th and 17th of August during which the students participated in a quality check session prior to the event, receiving feedback and suggestions for improvement.

On Market Day, each stall boasted of its own distinct culinary creation. From sandwiches to rasmalais, burgers to jalebi phapda, churros to kachoris, an array of delectable treats could be found under one roof. The venue was brimming with a joyful medley of enticing aromas and vibrant decorations. The students proudly showcased their culinary delights, featuring everything from Indian chaats to heavenly desserts. With innovative names and various marketing strategies, the event provided a valuable learning experience for the students, emphasizing the importance of customer satisfaction and entrepreneurial skills. All the stalls were sold out in no time.

The event reached its climax with the presentation of a diverse array of prizes. Accolades were also granted for the "Most Scrumptious Savoury" and the most ‘Delectable Dessert," as well as for the "Fastest Selling Dish" and the Smartest ‘’Marketing Strategy." The Principal, Ms. Akhila Dinesh, who is outstandingly visionary in her efforts to stimulate innovative and imaginative thought processes, commended the students for their efforts and emphasized the need for developing entrepreneurial skills.

In short, food fiesta was not only an experience but a memory which is to stay in the minds of both the makers of the dishes and the ones who ate it.
