Independence Day
The 77th Independence day at NPSI, Mysore was celebrated on 15 August 2023 with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. There was a feeling of nationalistic sentiment and pride in everyone’s heart. The school campus was attractively decorated with flowers and tri-colour flags to commemorate the day. The programme began with the unfurling of and salute to the national flag by the Principal Ms Akhila Dinesh, and she was flanked by the PE department teachers and school prefects. The echoes of ‘Jana Gana Mana ’rendered by the students and teachers in unison, reverberated in the air, making it a goose bumps moment. The school band and students showcased a synchronised march past. to pay tribute to our motherland ‘INDIA’. A cultural program was presented by students of class X. Patriotic songs, musical band, dances and soul stirring speeches highlighted the significance of the day. In her address to the gathering, the Principal emphasised on the theme of 'Nation First Always First' and ' Meri Maati Mera Desh'. She inspired students to respect diversity, imbibe compassion and involve in service to the country. Remembering the sacrifices of great leaders for the freedom of India, the principal spoke about the immense potential that students have in shaping the destiny of the country. As the finale for the programme, a dance with medley of patriotic songs in various regional languages was performed which enthralled the audience. Sweets were distributed and we headed home. The Independence Day celebrations reinforced the collective sense of national pride and a renewed zeal to uphold the strong principles that our nation stands for.
