Euphorica
“Music is magnificent, amazing and euphoric, where there’s music, there is bound to be magic.” The maiden Interschool Music fest- ‘Euphorica 2023- Creating Magic Through Melodies’ was conducted by Team NPSI Mysore on 1 August, 2023. A total of 11 teams comprising of 164 participants from various reputed schools in Mysore and Bangalore competed. The talented teams came from NPS Indiranagar, NPS Rajajinagar, NPS Koramangala, NPS HSR, St Joseph’s Yelwal, ICan, Podar International, The Learning Curve, Kautilya Vidyalaya, Police Public School and National Academy for Learning (NAFL). The planning and preparation for Euphorica began almost 2 months in advance. The students were actively involved in planning and execution of the decor, deciding of the rounds and venues, writing of scripts, preparing the invites and brochure, gearing up our tech support and practising for the culturals. The days and months of hard work, finally culminated into this musical extravaganza. The different competitions planned were - Aureolus Melodia, the solo singing competition, Crescendo Quest- the band competition, Decorus Chorus- the group singing fest and Duet Royale- the duet singing competition. The grand inaugural ceremony commenced at 9:00 am, with the lighting of the lamp, invocation song and dance, garnering the blessings of the divine and thus began the quest, through the realm of symphonies. The Principal Ms Akhila Dinesh rendered the welcome address and expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the board of governors for providing us with a platform to showcase the talents of many students. She emphasised on the NPS vision of holistic development of students, that caters to their academic needs and also aims for students to be skilled in multidimensional activities, leading to creation of lifelong learners and leaders. Ms Akhila appreciated the tireless efforts of the students and teachers in the making of this magical music extravaganza. Wishing the contestants, the very best of luck, the principal hoped that the eventful day would add to many cherishable memories, for students to treasure. The students then moved into the venues of four different competitions all set to showcase their talents in the mega euphoric extravaganza. Renowned members from the field of music were invited to be the judges for Euphorica. Ms Puja Balaji, a seasoned Carnatic musician, was the judge for Aureolus Melodia. Ms Maria Sharon Yates and Ms Ruth Yates, talented multi instrumentalists from the middle east were the Judges for Crescendo Quest. Ms Suma Prashanth, a trained carnatic singer with expertise in folk singing was the judge for Decorus Chorus and Mr Rakhith Panathale, Carnatic classical vocalist and light music singer was the judge for Duet Royale.All contestants gave their best in the competitive rounds, giving the judges, a tough time to decide on the winners. The chief guest for the spectacular Valedictory ceremony of Euphorica, that commenced at 3:30 pm, was Mr Arjun Janya, an incredibly gifted, versatile, award-winning music composer and singer who has taken the Kannada music industry by storm. His presence served as a catalyst for all the young, budding artists in the auditorium. The atmosphere in the auditorium was electrifying as the stalwart from the music industry, Mr Arjun Janya, delivered his speech. He opined that the future of music industry is in the right hands as there are many talented and young artists, who are immensely passionate about music. He congratulated NPSI Mysore for having given the musical talents, a platform to perform. He encouraged the appreciated the students and added that all the performers of the day were winners already. The Principal Ms Akhila Dinesh along with the chief guest, Mr Arjun Janya, presented the awards to the winners of Euphorica 2023. NPS Koramangala, emerged triumphant as the overall champions, bagging the highest number of points across all the rounds in the competitions. The principal congratulated the winners and expressed heartfelt appreciation for all the participants. The cultural programmes during the Valedictory ceremony included a performance by Symphony, the musical band of NPSI Mysore and a dance themed on the vision statement, presented by students of classes 10,11 and 12. The sensational musical event concluded with acknowledgements, deepest gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to the Board of Governors of NPS Institutions, principals of all participating schools, ever enthusiastic participants and all the students and teachers, whose contribution made Euphorica 2023, a grand success. Overall, with Euphorica 2023, Team NPSI Mysore, set new benchmarks of excellence in the co-scholastic dimensions.
