Gombe Story - “Where every doll tells a thousand years of stories.”
On 15 November 2025, the students of Classes 1 and 2 proudly presented “The Great Indian Gombe Story”, a colourful theatrical journey that brought India’s festivals, traditions and folk arts to life through dolls, dance and storytelling. The play celebrated the magic of Gombe Habba (Golu) — the vibrant festival of dolls from Southern India, especially Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
With lively performances, charming characters and festive music, the children transported the audience from London to Mysuru, showcasing a slice of India’s rich cultural heritage. Aarav welcomed the parents with warmth and excitement, setting the mood for an evening filled with wonder.
The play began on a chilly night on Pennington Avenue in London, where siblings Adwaith and Ann discover mysterious boxes sent from India. Curious and thrilled, they open the boxes — and magical dolls come alive! All the dolls — traditional, modern and festive — came together in a vibrant closing performance.
“The Great Indian Gombe Story” was a beautiful celebration of Indian festivals, folk arts, Cultural diversity, Storytelling and Unity in tradition. The play concluded with the message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — “The world is one family.” The children performed with confidence, joy and love, making it a magical day for all.
