INTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Kidovator Challenge
The students of NPS International Mysore participated in Kidovator Challenge, National Level Round which was held in Bangalore on 11 January 2019 at J W Marriot. NPS International Mysore emerged as the super winners. More than 350 students from 21 schools all over India, took part in the challenge. Kruthi Iyer of Class V and Pranav S Shankar of Class VI achieved the first position in Creative Olympiad. In Critical Thinking Ameiy of Class X, Milan of Class VIII and Vishnu of Class VII secured the second position, Srushti of Class VII, Pranav S Shankar of Class VI and Anusha Rao of Class VIII secured the third position, Tanirika of Class VIII secured the fourth position and Jhanavi of Class VII obtained the fifth position.
NPS international Mysore bagged the World 100 – 21st Century Education Award and the Best Rising School 2018 Award along with a cash prize of Rs. 35,000/-
English Declamation Fest
On 12 January, 2019, four students from NPS International, Mysore participated in the Second Sri V. Siddharthacharry Memorial English Declamation Fest organized by Acharya Vidya Kula. Two students from class VIII and two from class IX were selected to declaim in the event. Each class had to choose one extract from drama and one poem from the suggested extracts. The students had to choose four different extracts. In drama, the participants needed to select extracts from either Shakespeare's 'Hamlet' or 'As You Like It' or Christopher Marlowe's 'Doctor Faustus'. In the poetry section, they were given a choice from 'Kubla Khan' by S.T. Coleridge, 'Australia' by A. D. Hope and 'Sailing to Byzantium' by W.B. Yeats. The students showcased exemplary talent and Sritama Ghosh bagged the third prize with her rendition of the poem ‘Sailing to Byzantium’. The event was judged by some of the finest professors of English Literature.
This experience was one of a kind for the students as they gained in depth knowledge of the English language, its articulation and learnt to appreciate the different nuances within literature and returned home enriched with more information about the ways to improve public speaking skills.
Cresta College : 'Space Out' Science, Math
and Literary Competition
Cresta College Mysore conducted an innovative and competitive programme with Science, Math and Literature as the core themes.
- The event was named 'Space Out' and was held on Sunday 9 December 2018. Teams from class XI of NPS International Mysore participated and won may accolades in the event. It was attended by all the prestigious institutions of Mysore. Various competitions were conducted to test the aptitude and creativity of the students. The emphasis was on quick thinking and application of knowledge rather than mere possession of subject knowledge.
- The First prize in the event Young Scientists was bagged by the team represented by Nida Fathima, Bhavyashree B, Dyuthi Urs and Abhipsa Sahoo
- The Second Prize in the event Math Fight was won by a team comprising of Bhuvi Pokharna, Sanchit Patwari, Tanmya Potdar and Janya Cariappa .
- Inchara and Tanmya Potdar won Kindles as a special appreciation prize.
