INTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
'Lit Up' - The Literary Fest at NPS HSR
NPS HSR Layout in Bangalore, conducted 'LIT UP' - a Literary Fest on 7 February, 2019. The students of classes VI, VII and VIII from NPS International, Mysore, participated in various programmes of the fest with great enthusiasm. The event was based entirely on English literature, dramatics, poetry and oratory skills. A total number of 21 students participated in debate, writing and reciting slam poetry, standup comedy, treasure hunt, quiz and journalism. The students who participated in slam poetry, debate and standup comedy were given their topics for the 1st round, one week prior to the event. Topics for the final rounds and other events were given on the spot and time was given to prepare for the same. The students have put in their best efforts to showcase their talents in these events. Aamil Finoj of class VII won the first prize in ‘Standup Comedy’. It was a great exposure to all the students who participated in this literary fest towards building their confidence and communication skills.
IIMUN 2018
India International Model United Nations {IIMUN} conducted a three day MUN conference at Manasarowar Pushkarini Vidyashrama, Vijaynagar Mysore, from 30 November to 2 December, 2018. The session was attended by 21 delegates from NPS International Mysore. The delegates’ performance at the MUN was highly appreciated by all.
It was a vigorous learning session for the students of NPSI as the guest speakers enlightened them on entrepreneurship, soft skills and the importance of yoga and inner peace. The session included productive hours of debate, in which our students participated with complete enthusiasm and sportive sprit. The session ended with the students of NPSI winning several awards. Eeshaan K B of class 8 won the best delegate award and Aakrith Harikumar of class 11 won the high commendation award in the WTO committee. In the lok sabha- Deepaknarayan of class 11 won the best delegate award and Anya Ashwin of class 9 won the high commendation award. In the UNSC – Janak Sunil and Nageshwar Venkatesh won the best delegation award; Nidhi Goutham and Pancham C of class 8 received a special verbal mention. The members of press Roohee Esha Urs and Shreyas Adarsh, received mentions of appreciation. It was a moment of pride and joy when NPSI Mysore was awarded the Best Delegation award for its outstanding performance during the three day conference.
RNR MUN
NPS Rajajinagar hosted their first inter-school MUN, R-NPS MUN 2018 on 28, 29 and 30 August. The MUN was attended by 14 students from NPS Mysore who represented delegates in the six committees being, UNSC,DISEC, AXIS TRIPARTITE,FIFA COUNCIL, CRESI and the International Press. Our delegates debated on agendas such as cybercrime, crime control, the Indian Education System and crisis Axis Tripartite. The MUN provided a great experience to both first time and experienced representatives. Janak Sunil from of class X won the Best Delegate (FIFA Council). Nageshwar Venkatesh of class X and Deepaknarayan S Bharadwaj of class XI bagged the Commendable Delegate award (FIFA Council). It was truly a learning experience for all the delegates.

Innowaves 2018
On 10th August the Commerce students of classes XI and XII NPSI, Mysore took part in the Commerce Fest 'Innowaves' hosted by NPS Indiranagar, Bangalore.
Our students participated in various events which threw light on the future challenges they would face in a technological world. In the event 'Pitch Perfect' that was a simulation of shark tank, the students got an insight into various entrepreneurial skills. In the stock market event 'Excelsion', our students took part enthusiastically. This gave an exposure to the nitty gritties of the real stock exchange market.
Our students also took part in 'Cognitus' quiz, 'Inquest' treasure hunt and 'Descento' the event for the 'Best Manager'. It was truly a good learning experience for the students.
Taking Entrepreneurship to Space
Neerav Iyappa of class VIII from NPS International, Mysore attended the International Space Development Conference (ISDC) 2018, from 24 May to 27 May at Los Angeles, CA.
He presented a ten minute detailed report on the prize winning proposal of a space hotel 'DIADEM' at NSS/NASA Ames Student Space Settlement Contest Presentation. He also prepared and displayed a poster for the proposal at the Poster presentation session. He was one among the 16 members selected for the Universalization Student Debate world premiere pilot programme hosted by EIS Academy and Ohio University.
Neerav was also chosen as a delegate for a team consisting of Michelle Brunetti, Evan Vera and Ethan Greene. They debated affirmatively on the topic 'Can Universalization promote Global peace through Co-Operation?' The team was ably mentored by Dr Bob Krone, Hoyt Davidson, Dr L J Edmonds and Dale Skran (the Universalization "Experts" from the Speed-Dating Exercise)
It was a feather added to the cap of NPS International, Mysore as Neerav was adjudged the best debater during this exclusive contest at NASA.
ODYSSEY 2018
"When students take part in multifaceted events, they gain a platform to showcase latent talents. This adage was proved when on July 6, students of NPSI Mysore were given the wonderful opportunity to take part in 'Odyssey- A path redefined'- conducted by NPS HSR, Bangalore. The fest was an extravaganza of science and culture. The students of our school took part in multifarious events. Our school made a very powerful impact in events like the Cold Kitchen, In Step and Science quiz. The team comprising of Shraddha Rajesh, Saanika and Vanshika S Valecha bagged the first prize in Cold Kitchen – a cooking without fire competition – where they stirred up some exquisite cuisines. Deepak Narayan S Bharadwaj of XI B won second prize in Stand Up Comedy. His spontaneity, wit and humour won the hearts of audience and judges alike. Having a flair for scientific quests, Rishabh Hulsurkar and Gaurav Harindra won the second prize in Science quiz. Making their presence felt on stage and rhythmically coordinating their steps to harmonious tunes, Gauri Bhatnagar, Harshitha H, Ganapathy K A, Nida Fathima, Abhishek Nanjappa and Dhruthi Subhash bagged the second place in "In Step".
Odyssey-2018 was an exclusive event blending competitions that brought forth beauty, creativity and intelligence from students belonging to various schools.
