INTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Pride of NPS International, Mysore
The Girls' Basketball Team of NPS International, Mysore, brought laurels to the school by securing the first runner's up position in the Basketball Tournament, at the district level. The tournament was held on 28 and 29 August, 2018, in Mysore Ovals Basketball ground. It was organized by the Alumni of University of Mysore, who are leading players in different sporting activities. The students from classes VIII to X who participated in the game are Jeevitha A, Keerthana,GP, Anushka Mahesh, Sanvi J, Tanvi J, Niharika Dev, Chandni Kushalappa, Crystal Anil, M Tanisha, Ishita K Marattukalam, Anusha Rao and Prathiksha Rao. The students received their honours from the chief guest, Dr. Reshma Chengappa, the eminent Basket Ball player. The enthusiasm of the players were further enhanced by the presence of Dr. P. Krishnaiah, the Physical Director of University of Mysore.
It was a wonderful exposure and learning for the students, who got this opportunity to represent their school at the district level.
THE WILD WISDOM QUIZ
THE WILD WISDOM QUIZ
The WWF-India Wild Wisdom Quiz that started in 2008 as a modest initiative in just one city today reaches out to 51853 students in 800 schools in 260 cities and 14 states in two countries. Wild Wisdom Quiz is an initiative towards enhancing knowledge and creating awareness among students about environment, wildlife and the threats posed to it. It aims to create awareness about WWF-India and inspires students towards green careers in conservation, renewable energy and sustainable development.
The students of NPS International, Mysore participated in the WWF quiz in large numbers. Out of the 75 students who participated from classes III to VIII, Taran Raj of class IV, Milind R Jain of Class V, Sangay Yongdrup from class VI and Anirudh Behl of class VIII were selected from primary and secondary levels respectively to represent our school at the State Level
The State Level Inter School WWF Quiz was conducted at Surana College, Bengaluru on September 07, 2018. Our students, who had read and researched well, were equipped with environment and wildlife knowledge that helped them crack the quiz rounds with ease. They put their best foot forward and stood out as a strong team amongst the other participants.
The team of Anirudh Behl and Sangay Yongdrup made it to the National level which will be held at Delhi on October 04, 2018. The duo represented NPSI Mysore bringing many more laurels to the school.
The WWF Quiz experience provided a learning platform for the participating students, broadening their scientific perspective and rekindling their curiosity towards unexplored realms of Science.
IRIS 2018
On the morning of 19 July 2018, the students of NPSI Mysore bustled into the campus of NPS, Koramangala to attend the literary and science fest - IRIS.
The day was filled with competitive events of all facets. Students had worked hard to bring out the best performance in their respective competitions and it reflected in the tough fight each participant gave in his or her battle.
NPSI Mysore proudly took home various accolades;Rishabh, Mansi and Janya bagged the second place in Tesseract (Chemistry quiz), Tejas and Vybhav won the second place in Pitch (Product Marketing Event), Adhya, Akshata, Ishani, Krishik, Thrishathi , Uddhav along with their designers Inchara and Bhavya came second in Pandora’s Box (Fashion Show). Adhya also won the Best Female Model and Abhipsa Sahoo and Ananya Ramaprasad won the Best Poem in Your Words’ Worth (Poem Writing).
Students also participated in competitions like Cog Works (Mechanical Ability Competition), Ipso Facto (Simulated Court), Improvisation Event, Mind Palace (Science Quiz), Bull Pen (Journalism Event), Event Horizon (Problem Solving Event), Ineffable(Story Writing), Miss Diagnosis(A biology based event where the participants diagnose the problem faced by the patient) and Clues 39(Coding Event) and came close to winning accolades.
The day ended with a spectacular award ceremony acknowledging those who had risen to the top. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learnt a lot.
Model United Nations
Model United Nations
The Model United Nations- It is a platform, a simulation of the UN Conferences that provides an opportunity to students to play the role of various delegates of committees across different countries.
Attending MUN is always what the students look forward to, because the experience and exposure is absolutely extraordinary.
It was a great opportunity for the students of our school to attend the Kumarans Model United Nation ‘ in Bangalore . The sessions were held for three days from 5 July to 7 July 2018. Five students from class X and one student from class XII participated and stood out as exemplary delegates making their presence felt throughout the debating sessions.
All the 6 students were allotted different countries in different committees with various agendas and topics for discussion. The committees included, the IAEA, WHO, SOCHUM, UNODC, UNGA-Legal, UNODC, Secretariat etc.
The sessions had fiery debates on various topics and the delegates came up with solutions to the various international issues at the end of every session.
The students did a lot of research and worked astronomically hard day and night. They had a spectacular time altogether and this event enhanced their knowledge and confidence levels to greater heights.
