REMINISCENCES - 2017 - 18
On 25 October 2017 the students of class V A presented their class assembly on the theme Keys to Success, and made everyone understand that there are many keys to success.
Abhyuday and Anoushka did the compering for the show. The programme commenced with a melodious song, the students sang We Shall Overcome soulfully conveying that we can achieve success, if we are focused and determined with a positive outlook.
The theme was further enhanced by the tips given by the students to achieve success. They spoke about how hard work, discipline, dedication, commitment, confidence and teamwork together will help to succeed in our lives.
The students presented a foot taping performance which enthralled the audience. Finally, Manognya acknowledged the gathering. The satisfaction of being able to convey their message successfully was seen in the bright and smiling faces of the students of V A
VII As class assembly was held on October 11, 2017 in the school auditorium. The topic for the program was 'Go Green'. The students of the class were all dressed in green and blue, and had practiced hard to put up the show.
They introduced the topic through a short skit. It portrayed a scene of what the future may be like, wherein the world will be polluted and the natural environment destroyed. This was followed by a song, Earth We are in it Together, which the students sang. Next, some students recited quotes, which aimed to make people aware of the current state of our environment and Earth. After that there was a poetic elocution on pollution. Finally, the students put up a short dance, which was choreographed by the students themselves. They also suggested a few measures to help reduce damage to Earth. The teachers ended the program on a note of thanks.
The class assembly was short, informative and entertaining and the intended message was put across beautifully by the students.
On 2 August 2017 students of class IX B presented their class assembly. They portrayed the importance of being humane in life. 'Be the reason someone smiles, be the reason someone feels loved and believes in the goodness of people' - this thought was the theme of the class assembly. The programme started with a question Have you ever helped anyone?"
First they enacted a play about how we need to be content with whatever we have in life. It also depicted how we should do something for others and be respectful towards them. It made us realize how blessed we are to be born healthy with wonderful parents and teachers to guide us. Through the message 'be happy with what you have in life' the play provides food for thought for the young learners' minds. A foot tapping dance was also put up as a part of the skit.
Students spoke about the great humanitarians like Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela and Swami Vivekananda. The class teacher urged the student community to be humble, kind and heal the world. Students sang the melodious song "Heal the world.....make it a better place to live in". A few students spoke about the virtues of life such as humility, love, respect, peace, compassion and service to humanity.
The students on this day put their theme into action by helping the support staff in different areas of their work.
The programme concluded with expressing their gratitude towards all who helped to make their assembly a truly learning experience.
Appreciate what you have now, before it becomes what you had. As an activity class 9A picked a secret friend and wrote a few lines of admiration for their friends. It was read out in the assembly, thus appreciating their classmates.
A tuneful song LEAN ON ME by Michael Bolton was sung by students to suit the theme. It gave the day a meaningful start. This was followed by a peppy and perky number which was choreographed with a power packed dance routine.
The short play emphasized on students to understand and experience the difficulty it takes to earn the comfort provided by their loved ones. The most important thing is to experience the difficulty and learn to value hard work behind all the comfort provided to them.
The class of 9A on behalf of the school pledged to make a difference by appreciating others. They pledged appreciation to their parents and teachers in their lives, to the valuable teachings and sacrifices they have made. They pledged to be respectful, caring and supportive to parents, teachers and all people in their lives who would make a difference and they pledged to follow the path of righteousness for a better tomorrow.
19 July 2017 was an important day for the students of Class XI B as they portrayed the essence of the virtues of life. Kindness, humility, magnanimity, honesty, respect and courteousness were the qualities that they extolled upon to lead a life loved by all. By practicing these virtues one can overcome all obstacles encountered in one's life. They beautifully depicted one of life's most valuable lessons from the shoes of an extremely talented and equally arrogant footballer, who learnt about humility the hard way. The entire class shed light on the most fundamental positive merits which help us smoothly ride life's rollercoaster effortlessly. Some of the students spoke about the importance of these virtues in life. The ever energetic dancers added to the lively spirit spreading the message of never giving up, for, trying to fail is much better than failing to try. The song, waving flag a heart warming one, was loved by all and the audience was found humming it on their way back to class. It spread a joyful message in the form of musical notes - the vision of living together in peace and harmony is all that we need to celebrate in life. The loud round of applause from the audience echoed over the place and spread the positivity of virtues.
The twelfth of July was a special day as the tenth graders were ready to exhibit their skills, inner talent and to pay homage to the brave warriors of our nation who fought selflessly for the independence of India. The determination and the drive to strive to excel was very well portrayed in the programme. The programme started with recognizing the determination possessed by the freedom fighters from each part of our country which led them to help in freeing us from the British rule. The students also spoke how the freedom fighters from different regions of India faced the hurdles put in front of them and ultimately even risked their lives. These were followed by indigenously and beautifully choreographed authentic dances from each region which the audience enjoyed thoroughly. The programme ended on a note with the teachers stressing the need to be determined in life and to never have no as an answer. As the assembly ended everyone who watched it was inspired to work towards his/her goal taking each step in anticipation of a challenge and moving towards excellence. Determination in life keeps us focused and never lets us deviate. Thus, determination is the key to success.
When compassion and selflessness takes over from greed and envy, life truly becomes beautiful. This message resonated through words and actions in the class assembly of XII A presented by the students on 1 June, 2017.
On the first official day of the academic year 2017-18 under the shades of our tall building, began a program that greeted the students and staff with an all embracing welcome. This was followed by a touching play which stressed upon the unconditional love of parents. Our class teachers Ms Shilpa and Ms Vidhatri spoke at length about how values and ethics, which when practiced make life beautiful. Each student spoke lines expressing the simple truth of life in its pristine form. Then came the rap along with beat boxing which mesmerized the audience.
The class assembly concluded with a human formation of the word LIFE which was enhanced by the use of coloured cloth. The programme ended after gratitude was conveyed to all those who contributed to make the assembly a success.
The best part of a person's life is definitely his/her time at school. It is then that we mould into our individual personalities. Class XII B brought out this message ably in their assembly them La Vie Apres L'Ecol'', meaning a sequel to school life.
Beginning with the entry of the Class Teacher with her students, the enactment of the school sequel, students portray various phases of life after stepping out of school. University, where they face several challenging situation, students are able to rise up to them and tackle them with confidence. Confessions to 'the diary' indicate that it was possible only because of the exposure and motivation given to them at school.
Further, moving on to facing an interview panel, the protagonist, is able to impress the interviewers with his confidence and clarity of expression. 'Dear Diary' shows it was all the wide are of participation and the gentle push from his teachers at school that had helped him get this far.
The Associate Class Teacher, speaking on the occasion said no environment can offer the energy and enthusiasm that a school offers. The assembly concluded with the Class Teacher thanking the students for taking her through this wonderful journey called 'School'.
