REMINISCENCES - 2017 - 18
In Tune with Nature - Class 10A Excursion
Our destination was set to Kadumakki Nature Camp, Sakleshpur. We assembled at 6 AM at school. Thus began our journey. Excitement was in the air as we made our way to Hassan. We then stopped and had sumptuous breakfast in a hotel. We resumed our voyage to the Chennekeshava temple where we were given an insight to the astounding architectural achievements made 900 years ago by the Hoysala Dynasty. We were awestruck by the level of skill utilized by the sculptors over three generations. As we reached the camp, lunch was waiting for us. We had our fill and relaxed in our aesthetically designed rooms in harmony with nature.
Next came a few fun activities organized by Ms. Chitra. These were some games like bomb explosion, marble in the cup which enthused our spirit and made us more active. We thoroughly enjoyed these fascinating games.
The next day, we woke up to a cold, foggy morning. Most of us enjoyed the pleasant weather. Then, we were taken on a trek up the hill which included crossing a stream giving us a spectacular view of the valley. After a whole round of photographs, we returned to the resort.
The trek was followed by breakfast which included masala dosas and bread which boosted our spirits. Next came a wonderful splash in the stream. We had a thrilling experience on the obstacle course which challenged our limits.
We then freshened up, packed and relaxed in our rooms. Then came the much awaited lunch which recharged us. We expressed our heartfelt gratitude to the Manager of the camp, Mr.Harish and his staff for the wonderful hospitality offered to us during our stay with a token of appreciation in the form of a card made by one of our students.
On the journey back home, we recollected moments spent in the nature camp which we will cherish for a long time.
KADDUMAKKI NATURE CAMP
The excitement was in the air as the Class XI students set out on their excursion on the 11th and 12th of December. The journey to Sakleshpur started at around 6:30 am. The bus ride was in itself a fun filled trip full of loud music, dance beats and laughter. The teachers who accompanied us too reveled and joined us in this enjoyable ride.
A hot breakfast awaited us at the Suvarna Reagency at Hassan.after a tasty breakfast we headed to the temple at Bellur. The temple at Bellur was home to ancient architecture with beautiful sculptures and scenic backgrounds. the stop at the temple was indeed refreshing and we looked forward to rest of the excursion.
We reached Kaddumakki Nature Camp around 12.30pm. The managers at the resort welcomed us warmly with a scrumptious lunch! To our great delight, many games had been arranged for us. These unique games conducted by Ms. Chithra instilled in us team spirit. Many chose to play games like Volleyball, Table Tennis and Badminton in the evening, which was full of fun.
! We were provided coffee and hot piping snacks after which we all headed to our rooms to relax. The day got better as we heard that there was going to be a bonfire! By 8 in the night, the bonfire was lit and we were all dancing to lively beats! The teachers including Ms Nandini Pai, Ms Jacqueline, Ms Bindu, Mr Sharath and Mr Srikanth also danced with us!
It was around 9:30 when we reluctantly stopped dancing and headed towards the dining hall where we were served lip smacking dinner! After a good night's rest we woke up a misty morning. When we had all gathered outside we went on a trek marveling the picturesque coffee estates and winding roads.
After breakfast the stream nearby proved to be a lot of fun and was very refreshing that hot morning! the adventure games were daunting and daring and many took part. After lunch we hesitatingly left the resort to return back home. The bus ride back was equally fun filled. These two days was full of memories which we would cherish for a life time!
A VISIT TO THE SCOTLAND OF INDIA
A renzendevous with nature is what the class 8 students experienced for two days i.e. on the 23 and 24 January 2018 when they went to Club Mahindra Resort, Virajpet, as part of their class excursion. A journey of two and a half hours was nothing compared to the breathtaking scenes and ambience of the sprawling resort amidst the coffee plantations. Students were given comfortable rooms to stay and treated to a lavish breakfast and lunch on the first day. A whole lot of activities like swimming, badminton, football, basketball and indoor games like table tennis, dumb charades etc. kept the students asking for more throughout the day. The staff had organized a musical event for the students in the evening where they danced with their friends. They also got a chance to bond with their classmates over dinner and while sharing rooms in the resort. The students kept themselves busy with the various facilities provided at the resort even on the second day and didn't realize when it was time for them to wind up and start back for Mysore. Each one of them spent quality time with their friends and teachers and took back loads of sweet memories to cherish forever.
Class IX Excursion - Coffee Grove Resort
They say that the memories we make in our school life are the ones we cherish forever. The excursion to Coffee Grove Resort, Chikmaglur was one such experience. 9 January 2018 was a long awaited day as this excursion was the first of its kind. Our journey began at 6:30 am. It was a four hour long journey but we hardly felt worn out owing to all the games we played in the bus. We reached the resort at 11 am and the rooms were given to us immediately. As we were exploring the resort, we found that not only was it scenic but it also had everything to keep us entertained!
We were occupied with playing badminton, table tennis, jumping on the trampoline etc. We had authentic Chikmaglur food and fantastic coffee for lunch. To beat the afternoon heat, we were surprised by a rain dance. Later, we were treated to some fun-filled group games and activities which brought out the creative side in us. At about 9 pm, we had a bonfire. We were all extremely tired after a long day and went to sleep.
The next day, we all got up early and went cycling in the huge plantation. We spent the rest of the day leisurely at the resort. We treated ourselves to a hot cup of coffee before checking out. Then, we thanked our organizers and left for our journey back home. We made a pit-stop at a historically landmarked temple in Belur. We were back with beautiful experiences that will never be forgotten!
Voyage au Pondicherry
Class XII excursion to Windflower in Pondicherry on 14 June, 2017 was a pleasantly invigorating experience. The students were accompanied by teachers Ms Preetha, Ms Bindu and Ms Shilpa. The itinerary for the trip was a perfect balance of relaxation and adventure.
The atmosphere at Windflower was set with incredible tranquility and composure. Everything at the resort was catered with utmost care and lived up to the reputation of being a well renowned star resort. Complete with a pool, indoor sports section, a private beach and a sprawling buffet, the trip was one unparalleled; the rooms, the service and the beach helped to battle the extreme humidity that caught the surroundings at this time of the year. The trip was indeed worthy of the stand of the last class excursion for the batch. It was one of a kind and is sure to stay with each one of them for a very long time.
