DENTAL CAMP
Guiding us to sparkling smiles
A dental camp was organised in NPSI, Mysore from 9 January to 11 January,2018 for a duration of three days.The students from Montessori to class X were part of this camp and this created awareness regarding basic dental hygiene among the students.
Dr Anita of Dental Concepts, Vijayanagar II stage gave her precious time and assisted with the camp, examining the teeth of students of various classes. She also spoke to them about tooth structure, types of teeth, the techniques of brushing properly and the types of treatment available for various problems like cavities, crooked teeth, gum diseases etc.
Students felt at ease while getting their teeth examined by the dentist and were also given a written feedback about their oral cavities, dental hygiene and suggested treatments.
The dental camp will go a long way in ensuring good oral hygiene amongst the students and is sure to bring in more sparkling smiles in the school campus.
Guest Lecture - Ms. Roopa Ravindran
Ms. Roopa Ravindran is one of the most outstanding history teachers one can find. At present she teaches in NPS HRS Bangalore. Her work focuses mostly on history and Political science. She is interested in comparative and world history and connects it all with a mythological twist.
Ms. Roopa was in NPS International, Mysore on 16 January 2018 to brief the students of class X, how to answer the board paper in Social Science. She shared her experiences of board evaluation and how their papers will be evaluated and hence students must write their answers with sub headings and key words. The study materials for few chapters were explained on the power point presentation as students made note of the key points. She stressed upon answering the paper to the point.
Social Science faculty too had an overview of how to create questions, notes writing, activities, maps etc. Teachers had a brief session on paper correction; about marking scheme as per points in an answer was explained in detail. It was an interactive session where most of us cleared our doubts on marking scheme, lesson plan etc.
It was a useful interactive session which could benefit students in many ways. We would like to thank the Principal for bringing in Ms.Roopa and making the vast horizon reachable for everyone.
Talk by Mr. James Harding –Senior Advisor Ucas
Mr. James Harding, the Senior Advisor of UCAS, an organization connected with all the Universities in UK and Ireland visited our school on 5 December 2017and spoke to the students of Class11 who are at the threshold of applying for Universities for their undergraduate programme.
He spoke in detail on the procedures of applying for universities abroad, the requirements and the preparation a student needs to make before applying to universities abroad.
He emphasized on the need to score good grades throughout the academic year and that a student needs to have clarity of thought as to which course he or she needs to pursue after Class 12. He also suggested that they need to be able to critically analyze their choice of subjects and universities.
Mr. James Harding also spoke about the role of UCAS and how they pitch in to guide students who want to study abroad. He threw light on the fact that students need to choose universities based on their scores.
At the end of the session students asked a lot of questions which were very patiently answered by Mr. Harding and his team. It was a very informative and interactive session. Later Mr. James Harding met the Principal and assured the school of all the required support from UCAS as an organization.
CAREER COUNSELLING FOR STUENTS
OF CLASSES IX, X XI and XII

Students of NPSI Mysore had the wonderful opportunity to enroll themselves for the career counseling session conducted by Mr. Shiv Dewan and team.
One Step Up, an organization run by Mr. Shiv Dewan conducted the Career counseling session for students of classes IX, X, XI and XII to give them an insight into the various career opportunities available.
To begin with M. Mansi gave a detailed presentation to the students and parents during ‘The Connect’ program at school where the Principal addresses all the parents and students of classes IX-XII on a common platform.
Ms.Mansi briefed the parents and students about various career opportunities and explained to them on how Step Up One caters to the doubts and apprehensions of students who are on the threshold of exploring new careers after school.
After the common session, the One Step Up team had classroom sessions with student’s of classes IX to XII who had opted for the course. They had an interactive session and understood the different career interests of students. They continued to be in touch with the students through emails.
During the second term Ms.Jyothsna and her team had a one to one session with students of class 10 and 12, they spoke to the students in detail and checked their aptitude and analytical skills and guided them about the different courses they could pursue in Class XI and after Class XII.
The students were very happy with the sessions and to a large extent were able to make a choice of course, for themselves.
National Law School Debate Workshop
Two Trainers - Mr.Sarangan and Mr.Osho
The National Law School (NLS) Debate workshop 2017 was held on the 2nd and 3rd of November at NPS International Mysore. The two trainers, Mr. Sarangan and Mr. Osho, from NLSIU Bangalore, enlightened the students with the nuances of parliamentary debating, emphasizing on the 3 M's - Manner, Matter and Method of debating. The workshop kicked off with them explaining the fundamentals of parliamentary debate. The trainers were influential in channelizing the students’ thoughts through many of the debates that spoke volumes about their knowledge of the Indian society and law. The participants debated on some of the most happening issues like the ‘death penalty’ and 'right to privacy'. The trainers were exceptional teachers who had thorough knowledge of the topics and patiently answered all the questions posed by the students. . The students learnt how to judge a debate and practised several motions. They were made to feel like Prime Ministers and Leaders of Opposition trying to defend cases and addressing issues of national concern. This workshop kindled a spark of interest within our students’ minds to pursue law as their future profession.
