They got an opportunity to explore the museum and got to know about the different types of engines and locomotives like meter gauge bus, rail car, travelling crane, inspection car etc. They were amazed to see the Maharani Saloon carriage, which has a kitchen, a dining car unit, luggage room etc. Students were awestruck to see the paintings and photos, which depicted the past, present and the future of Indian railways. RAIL MUSEUM
Our smart students of KG-I were taken to the "Rail Museum" on Thursday 16-11-2017. The objective of the trip was to gain knowledge about the railways which is an important mode of transport. We reached the venue at 10.15 a.m. To cherish the exciting trip the students posed for photographs. Time flew as the curious students watched the “meter gauge inspection car, narrow gauge steam locomotive, narrow gauge coach which had a dog cage and place for luggage. The students enjoyed sitting in coach which is different from the present day coach and the meter gauge rail bus. While observing the models the students had a lot of questions to ask. They were excited about the toy train ride, and were very happy to board the train with the teachers who were accompanying them. It was snack time for our tired student who finished their snacks without making any noise. After snacks students were taken to the "Maharani Salon" where they enjoyed their walk viewing the specially designed and customized wagon of the royal family. Here they also had a view of the different magneto telephones, amplifiers, dynamos, hand signal lamps used by guards, fish plates used to join rails, hand grinding machines, model of a Loka Pavani bridge and pendulum clock. Students were also taken to the Chamundi Gallery which housed photographs and history of railways of India and other parts of the world. The curiosity of the students grew as they saw photographs of Sky train, Bullet train, Monorail and the fast and furious metro train. Students enjoyed playing in the play area and then it was time to head back to school after a fun filled, memorable field trip.
Oxygen Acres
As a part of outdoor learning, the students of class V were taken out on a field visit to Oxygen Acres on 9 November 2017. Mr Jaidev and Mr Ravi took the students on the farm tour and gave several details about farming. They explained about organic farming and the production of various sources of energy using gobar gas. The students were taken to the cow shed where they were explained about the varieties of cows, milking of cows and how the slurry is flushed out into the gobar gas plant. The students got a first hand information regarding production of energy by using solar panels and methane gas. The students learnt about how the different milk products like cheese, butter, ghee, paneer, and yogurt are prepared in an organic way. They were later served with hot badam milk which they relished. The children had enjoyed to the fullest and came back to school with a wonderful smile.
SAND MUSEUM
On 8 November 2017, a field trip to Sand Museum was arranged for the 4th graders.
Children had no idea about the destination of their field trip and kept guessing on their way to the museum, while being nostalgic about their previous field trip.
After arriving at the Sand Museum, children were thrilled to explore the place keeping all the norms in mind. They marched their way to gaze at the amazing sand sculptures made. To name a few there were idols of Gods, cartoon characters, marine life and happy man.
Children were stunned to see and understand the fact that the sculptures were crafted completely with sand. It also gave them plenty of ideas about the possibilities of sand particles being used to make creative and magnificent sand sculptures.
A lot of intricate and miniature things making the giant sand sculptures so beautiful were very well observed by the students and those observations were shared among them as they moved. The dexterity of the artist was appreciated by the students.
In the end, the dazzling smiles grew wider as the students posed for a snapshot.
On the way back, children seemed to wish the trip to extend for some more time; however, they returned with loads of wonderful memories to cherish.
