My Trip To The Super Market
Field trips give the children an educational experience away from their regular school environment. They help children learn better and connect the learnings with their lessons. Children of KG II visited a super market at Vijayanagar.
Children were excited to see all the traffic signals on their drive. The moment the students entered the super market it was impossible to stop their excitement. They walked in a row to see and observe every detail in the supermarket.
Children were very excited to see different variety of fruits and vegetables in different shapes, sizes and colour. They got an opportunity to see how things are measured and how they are priced. They were over excited to see the ice-cream and chocolate counters. Students made good use of the opportunity by interacting with the storekeeper and asking various questions. The trip provided a perfect experience for effective learning. They were truly delighted by their visit to the supermarket.
Visit to Planet Earth
Field trips are fun! A visit to the "Planet Earth" was an amazing experience for the students of KG I. This is one among the largest aquariums in India with about 150 varieties of ornamental fish, a collection of both fresh water as well as marine fish.
The moment students entered the campus of Planet Earth they were awestruck on seeing pets like guinea pigs, different breeds of dogs, pigeons, bunny rabbits, hamsters and white mice; Students were also allowed to touch all the pets.
Students later sat down to have their snacks. After their snack time they were taken inside the marine world. They walked from one aquarium to another, pointing at the fishes- Red Tail Cat fish, Silver Arowana, Oscar, Fighter fish, Tiger Shark, Guppy, Giant Gourami. It was impossible to stop their excitement. It was a great learning experience for the students which made a lasting impact on them. The students really enjoyed every moment of the field trip to "Planet Earth".
Montessori Seniors and Juniors Field trip to Shukavana
Montessori seniors and juniors enjoyed their field trip to Shukavana aviary at Sachidananda Ashram. The students were excited as they travelled with their friends. They sang all the way from the school to the destination. They bombarded the teachers with questions about hoardings and boards they saw on the way.
As we reached our destination, the students were very enthusiastic to experience the journey through the aviary. At the entrance, the students could hear varied sounds from the aviary. The students were thrilled to hear a parrot talk and wanted to converse with it. The waterfall at the entrance was a pleasant sight.
The students got a wonderful opportunity to know about the habitat and the diet of the parrots. They saw various species of parrots and parakeets; and also got to know the difference between a parrot, parakeet and macaw. They were in awe to see macaws and were amazed at their colourful feathers.
The field trip to Shukavana was a colourful experience and the students were reluctant to exit the aviary.
OUT IN THE GARDEN
Research has shown that the field trips give students educational experiences away from the regular classroom. These interactions teach them how to behave in different settings and also foster a sense of team work and solidarity among the students as they experience a field trip together.
On 21st July 2017, the students of Grade 2 were taken on a field trip to a nursery which was indeed enlightening and educative. A nursery is a place where plants are propagated and grown to usable size. The plants are grown in open fields and in green houses. Students were overjoyed to see different types of plants like shrubs, creepers, climbers, bonsai and trees in the nursery and they enjoyed exploring. It was amazing to see them observe and describe different plants and flowers. They were excited to interact with the gardener and were curious to see how he used his tools to dig the soil. They were thrilled to see real lemon, chickoo, guava and mango trees laden with fruits. This was a rare sight for them. The students thoroughly enjoyed the field trip to nursery.
Plant Nursery
A nursery is a place where plants are propagated and grown to usable size. It was a bright, pleasant morning when the students of Class I hopped into the bus for their field trip. They were brimming with excitement as the place they were visiting was a surprise. The students were trying to guess as to where they would be going.
Finally, they reached the place. It was a Plant Nursery. The students got into their lines and were taken around the nursery. They were overjoyed to see the colourful flowers and the lush green plants. They saw different types of plants which they had learnt about in their lesson. Creepers, climbers, herbs, shrubs and trees were the different types of plants found in the nursery. As the plants were shown to the students, they were thrilled to guess their names. Most of the plants were familiar to them.
The students were delighted to see the different types of fruits and vegetables, growing there. They also got to see few ornamental and flowering plants which they were able to recognize. As they headed towards the exit of the nursery, a fully bloomed lotus caught their eye. They admired it, immensely.
Finally, they stood amidst the beautiful plants and gave a cheerful smile for a click!
