    A Visit to Shukavana

Children of KG I and Montessori Juniors went on a field trip to Shukavana on 28 August 2019. Children went for a long walk through the aviary and saw different varieties of plants and trees. The team visited Shukavana theatre and a movie was screened on how parrots, macaw and the other birds interact with the Guru and communicate so effectively. It was a sight of great interest to watch how the birds are fed. As the children passed through the garden they saw the different kinds of art work like Feather art, Bali art, Tanjore painting, Sand art and Natural stoneart. The students also got to see the rehabilitation of birds and how the sick birds are treated and taken care of. They walked into the bird aviary and got an opportunity to see different kinds of birds like Hyacinth Macaw, Blue throated Macaw and Shamrock. They were happy to see and hear the birds chirping. Children also witnessed how parrots are fed by the caretakers. The visit to Shukavana was inspiring, as students observed and learnt how birds work in a team and how caring they are, with one another. Children enjoyed the field trip thoroughly and were able to say the names of few birds and their colours too!
