Role Play
In order to improve the speaking skills and their expressions an activity was conducted for the students of class III. Students enacted a skit; dialogues for the skit was given to the students. They were able to learn the given dialogues and enact the same with perfect pronunciation and fluency. All the students enjoyed the activity.
Drama Hungama
Class 3 student enacted a role-play on the lesson named 'नकलची बंदर' wearing mask and simple costume. They enacted it in the school lawn garden. This play aimed at creating a sensation of fair play. And increasing the child’s vocabulary, grammar, sentence formation and other grammatical aspects related directly/ indirectly to the lesson. Children had a wonderful time and learnt in detail about timing, precision and disciple which are eminent.
Informal Letter Writing
Letters are the oldest means of communication. It helps us to convey our message to our beloved who are far away from us. Informal letter is a letter that is written in a personal fashion. It is written to our relatives, friends and family. These letters can also include invitations etc…Informal letter writing activity was conducted for students of class III. Students were introduced to the format and the procedure of writing an informal letter.
This activity helped the children to cultivate a habit of writing than using electronic gadgets to convey the message and enhanced their writing skills.
Things Around Us
An activity was conducted for students of class III on the topic ‘Things around Us’. Students were given news papers to make paper bags. They were instructed step by step for making the bag by paper folding. The concept behind this activity is to reuse newspapers instead of plastic covers, as plastic is non-bio degradable.
This activity enriched their information store house. It also clarified them to, that we make paper out of wood. We need to save paper by reusing them, which can reduce cutting down of trees and conserving natural resources.
Activity On Multiplication By Using Ice Cube Tray And Rajma Seeds
A Mathematics laboratory provides an opportunity for the students to discover through doing. In many of the activities, students learn to deal with problems in the course of doing concrete activities which lay down a base for more abstract thinking.
We keep doing many such activities, one of such activity was done for multiplication using ice-cube tray and rajma or green peas for class III.
Factors were written on the board by the teacher for which the students found the product by placing the seeds in the ice cube tray. Example: 2 X 4 = 8, 2 seeds each were placed in 4 cubes by the students and vice versa. Then they calculated the number of seeds and found the product. This activity gave more scope for individual participation. It encouraged students to become autonomous learners and allowed every student to learn at his or her own pace.
Group Activity on Means of Transport
A group activity was conducted for students of class III on the topic 'Means Of Transport'. Students were divided into three categories- land, air and water. Students made a collage and spoke in detail about the topic. This enabled the students to work as a team, enhance their confidence and practice respect for their peers.
Students learnt from each other as they discussed on the topic. This activity enriched their information store house and developed their communication skills.
Learning with Fun
Hands on activities help children in understanding the concepts very well . It improves their analytical reasoning and observation. "Palm Print" helps in the development of muscles of the palm. Painting blue and green to represent the art done for Environment Day was great fun. The importance of the environment was brought out aptly by children and how it can be saved and protected was explained in detail. On International Yoga Day, children were taken outdoor and made to do a few Asanas to gain concentration and to keep fit and flexible. Introduction to vowels was done through slides in the AV room. There was a lot of interaction among children and they came out with many new words, seeing the different pictures. These are activities that help children enrich vocabulary, reading, writing and communication skills.
