Independence Day
As India celebrated its 73 Independence, on 15 August 2019, the students and the teachers of NPSI Mysore celebrated the same with utmost patriotic fervor. The programme began with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Principal, Ms Shubha Achaiah, followed by singing of the National Anthem. The Principal addressed the students on the meaning and value of true ‘Independence’. The word ‘Independence’ will hold its real sense only when every Indian will remain indifferent to the discrimination made on the basis of caste, creed, religion, gender and so on. The Principal laid emphasis on secularism, encouraging the students to lead the nation to an ever widening thought process. To instill the feeling of patriotism at a very young age the early learners were encouraged to be a part of the celebration with the senior students. They spoke about the achievements of some unsung heroes, sang patriotic songs and performed for a patriotic number. After this, the students of class V presented a wonderful programme to uphold the patriotic fervor. The programme concluded with the students of all the classes singing patriotic songs.
