    Teachers’ Day

    The light of the world, the beacon in the dark and the hope that gives us strength to survive, is our teacher. Teachers' Day is an occasion, kept aside to honour the gifted souls, who make sure that the future is bright for all of us. Every year on the fifth of September, we celebrate Teachers’ Day. It is a day filled with lots of excitement, joy and happiness as students eagerly look forward to tell their teachers, how and why they are special.

    NPSI Mysore celebrates ‘Teacher Appreciation Week’ every year, wherein parents and students are encouraged to drop in appreciation mails, notes and cards for teachers. This year, celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week and Teachers’ Day were combined so as to have greater significance and meaning.

    The senior secondary students of NPS International, Mysore celebrated Teachers’ Day in school with a lot of enthusiasm. The celebrations spanned over 3 days where the faculty members participated in programmes, which were one of its kind. The invite was a creative banner that was unveiled, even as students performed an energetic flash mob. The treat for faculty members began On September 3, with the onsite hairstyling salon, tattoo art and selfie corner.

    On September 4, the celebrations began with ‘Antakshari & Chai’ organized by class XII for their teachers. The faculty members enjoyed as they sang and danced to the tunes. The question and answer round, a replica of ‘Koffee with Karan’ settings, also brought laughter among the audience.

    On 5 September, dressed in colourful and vibrant costumes, students looked stunning and were set to give in their best for their teachers. The venue for the event was decorated aesthetically. The auditorium looked wonderful and the ambience was perfect for the occasion. The students had been preparing for this programme for over two weeks.

    The finale, ‘Retroverse’ in the auditorium began with a mesmerizing performance by the school band of class XII, called the ‘Chilly Peppers’. This was followed by rendition of some melodious retro tunes which was a flash back and created an atmosphere of nostalgia. The dances presented by classes XI and XII, astounded the audience. The standup comedy brought in waves of laughter around the room. The programme concluded with a breathtaking fashion show, showcasing the fusion of Indian tradition and culture, had everyone spellbound! The Principal, Ms Shubha Achaiah, addressed the gathering and expressed her feelings on the joy of being a teacher. She shared some anecdotes that reflected the invaluable bond shared by teachers and students.

    The day reverberated with laughter and joy with a sense of gratitude in everyone’s heart. The family of NPS International, Mysore teaching community was on cloud nine as more goodies and special treats from the Principal awaited them in the evening. The teaching community of NPS International, Mysore takes pride in being in one of the noblest professions of the world. May learning and education continue to Reach Out, Reach High and Reach Beyond.
